Community Development Services



To safeguard the citizens of the City of Pleasanton against faulty or inappropriate building, plumbing, mechanical and electrical construction practices. To provide guidance in compliance of state and local construction codes and laws.

To maintain the highest level of public safety and customer service in the administration of building construction code enforcement.

Code Enforcement in the City of Pleasanton is responsible for ensuring compliance with City Ordinances which includes nuisance ordinances concerning overgrown lots, trash and unregistered or inoperable vehicles. The Code Enforcement Officer also handles hazards in buildings and property, enforces codes on health and safety issues, and inspects food establishments.

The Health Inspector is responsible for the compliance to the City of Pleasanton Retail Food Establishment Ordinance (Ord. No. 10-1000). The Health Inspector investigates complaints and conducts routine inspections of the food establishments within the city limits of Pleasanton.


The Building Official reviews plans and inspects all improvements in our City. The plan review turnaround time for residential projects is approximately 1-2 weeks, and for Commercial, 2-4 weeks. When submitting commercial plans for review, two full set of plans should be submitted to the Community Development Services Department at City Hall located at 108 Second St., Pleasanton, Texas. In addition, three sets of utility plans should be submitted to the Public Works Department located at 704 E. Hunt St., Pleasanton, Texas. The Code Enforcement Officer enforces our codes on health and safety issues, and inspects food establishments.



Inspection requests should be made 24 hours in advance to (830) 569-3867 ext. 231 or by email at permits@pleasantontx.gov. Any request before 8:00 p.m. will be scheduled the next working business day, and inspection requests after 8:00 p.m. will be scheduled for the following working business day.
