DESCRIPTION:

The Pleasanton Police Department is the primary law enforcement agency responsible for enforcing all state laws and city ordinances within the city limits of Pleasanton.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Applicants for Patrol Officer within the Pleasanton Police Department shall be processed in the following manner:

1. Preliminary Application Screening
2. Entrance Examination
3. Physical Agility Test

   • Must complete a 1 1/2 mile run in 16 minutes 31 seconds, or less
   • Must complete 12 or more pushups in one minute
   • Must complete 22 or more sit-ups in one minute
4. Oral Interview Board
5. Personal History Statement
6. Background Investigation
7. Referral to Chief of Police
8. Conditional Offer of Employment
9. Post Offer of Employment Investigation
10. Medical Examination
11. Psychological Examination
