Established to Preserve the History of Atascosa County

The museum through its displays of Artifacts,Doccuments,portaits and written excerpts protrays the history of Atascosa county.The museum devotes major efforts in documenting the area as the

" Birthplace of the cowboy"

Our Museum also serves as a Tourist Information Center. This center

assist visitors by providing maps, brochures and information about

Pleasanton and Atascosa County

The( SAU&G) San Antonio, Uvalde and Gulf Depot was located on

HWY 281 in North Pleasanton and was moved to the grounds

of the Longhorn museum.. The Union Pacific Caboose was added

to this exibit. Also the Depot contains artifacts and excerpts from

the early days of Railroading
